Boat Tours & Deep Sea Fishing

Experiencing the Pacific coast of Nicaragua from a boat is an adventure not to be missed. Boat tours can include an array of activities: spearfishing, snorkeling, wake-surfing, foil-boarding, whale and turtle watching. You can also book a boat and just take in the stunning coastline for a few hours if that’s more your speed, though we know you’ll be tempted to do more!

Waterfall Expedition

There are two options for this adventure. Start out on an ATV in San Juan Del Sur and head south toward the rain forest close to the Costa Rican border, or Pacifica Adventuras can take you via 4x4 truck. Whatever mode of transport you prefer to get there, you’ll meet Robin, a local pastor who lives deep in the rain forest with his family. From Robin’s homestead, you will head into the forest to tour seven different cascading waterfalls, as well as a few swimming holes where you can take a dip in the cool, refreshing water. This is a unique opportunity to meet a local family and experience untouched nature. A delicious homemade brunch prepared by Robin’s wife, using only ingredients from their land, is a welcome and delicious ending to this tour.

Horseback Tours

Take a guided tour with our partners at Big Sky Ranch. Where you go is up to you — through the jungle to a secluded beach, or deep into surrounding tropical forest where you are likely to meet up with all sorts of wildlife (monkeys, toucans, parrots, sloths and more). Big Sky is known for its beautiful stables and well-kept horses. Knowing that travelers don’t always travel with horseback riding gear, they provide everything you need for a safe and comfortable ride!

Canopy Tour (zip-line)

There are two companies operating zip-line canopy tours near Playa Escameca. Both offer amazing vistas, and the thrill of flying through the jungle on a series of lines that traverse from the highest points around down to sea level.
